Without the WordPress (2004) of Matt Mullenweg or the Drupal (2001) of Dries Buytaert, I really wonder how ultra-large corporations or trillion-dollar sovereign economies would have constructed their websites by now.
Amazingly, sometimes text is more important than its font and some websites provide non-user-generated content, again, sometimes.
Content management systems help focus on content rather than codes. Many websites are "admined" by people who have no coding experience and I can totally understand why. There are readily available free sets of files for this purpose, which are referred to as "Content Management Systems", but for the average user, their initial settings and customisation are not as easy jobs as comment-posting.
